Around the world, hundreds of cities and thousands of people are celebrating Car Free Day! Leave your car in the garage on Tuesday, September 22 and join the rest of the world as they walk, bike, in-line skate, take transit or telecommute to work or school. Hamilton will be celebrating Car Free Day with many exciting events that you can participate in! Free TransitAll DayRide the HSR for free all day! Pick up your Smart Commute wristband at any of the following locations and sign up to participate!

Downtown Car Free WalkGore Park to Bayfront Park12:15 pm to 1:00 pmJoin your friends and coworkers and particiapte in the Car Free Day Mass walk. Beginning at Gore Park, you will travel through the downtown core until reaching Bayfront Park where you will be greeted with snacks and great prizes! Bicycle Drive-in Movie NightGage Park BandshellThursday Sept. 24, 2009 (starts at dusk, weather permitting)
Bike, walk, or take transit to Gage Park and enjoy a movie night with your fellow active commuters! This event, brought to you by Transportation for Liveable Communities, is free and includes popcorn. Be sure to bring a blanket and dress warmly!
